[Name:]
Lisa Cuddy
[Age:]
35
[Occupation:]
Dean of Medicine, Medical Doctor
[Special Talents/Extra Info:]
Cuddy is a single woman and is seeking someone to parent her child. She is treating this as a very important and serious matter, screening each and every candidate - with House’s help. He has denied all of them as of yet, and she continues to search for new men and new opportunities.
There is a great amount of sexual tension between Cuddy and House, although she doesn’t really want to acknowledge it, that much. She does consider him though, a donor for her child. There is a bit of an attraction between the two, but as before, it’s not in her character to try and start a relationship like that. So their flirtatious fighting will have to continue as it is, until someone’s mind changes - or either finally snaps.
[Personality:]
Lisa Cuddy is a strong woman and is rightly the Dean of Medicine at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. She isn’t afraid to stand up to the big wigs and force her opinions on other people. But there’s also a consenting and understanding part of Cuddy. She knows that House doesn’t always do the right things, and frequently disagrees with him (on almost everything), but she consents to his dangerous and often, illegal activities because it gets the job done and more often than not, saves people’s lives.
Cuddy is also guilty of dealing with House’s problems and saving his arse against committees and certain billionaires who would have liked to have seen him fired. However, being that Cuddy wants what is best for the patients and all of the people around the hospital. She often has serious stress issues, considering House is often putting her between the rock and hard place when she needs to make decisions. She is very patient, which does help when dealing with House and will do whatever it takes to keep her cool. She seldom loses her temper, although, on the occasions which she does, it probably isn’t smart to be around.
Being a moral woman, it is hard for her to make decisions regarding House’s unorthodox approach to medicinal treatments and often has to assert her own power over him. Although sometimes it does not work, Lisa will do almost anything to try and change the mind of the immoral doctor. She has a firm belief she is one of the only people in the hospital who can get him to do anything, which shows her iron will and determination. She often has to force House to complete his weekly assignments and isn’t afraid to pressure him to do so, or use petty threats to get it. Of course, most of the time she’s countered with another petty threat and a stand-still is reached, thusly leading them both to do their own bidding.
She is also logical, but at the same time female - which leads to a rationality of compassion and softness. Her latest birthday has brought her to the realization that at 36 she is not getting any younger and is still single. There is a softness in her heart that requires her to wish for a baby, something she can care for herself - more likely than not, a single, strong mother.
[History:]
Doctor Lisa Cuddy did not always know she was going to be a doctor. The young Jewish girl from New Jersey, like any other silly little thing, wanted to be a super model, actress, or teacher like every other little girl. That was until she got into high school. The rather swarthy Jewish girl wasn’t like all of the Barbie doll girls in her school. She was darker, heavier, and altogether weirder than everyone else. She had a penchant for science and adored biology. Most of her upperclassman years were spent in advanced science classes, rubbing elbows with the cream of the crop of her high school.
Awards and scholarships were handed out to the girl for her accomplishments in biology and chemistry and she went on to the University of Michigan. Her schooling began with a lot of shocks for the young Jewish girl. No longer was she the brightest of the bright in her classes; however, she sought to change that. Focusing completely on her studies, she didn’t party, she didn’t hang out with friends - she worked, all day every day. Her intense work ethic also introduced her to the “legend” Gregory House. While she was still in her undergraduate years, he was turning out to be quite the talk of the town and Lisa wanted to meet this man - just to get some ideas on what the profession was like.
She attended his lectures and aspired to work with a genius like that one day. Of course, back then, Cuddy couldn’t have been expected to know the trials and tribulations of working with such a… difficult doctor as House was. And not only that, but she wasn’t expected to know that fate would drag them to the same hospital. After she graduated from The University of Michigan Cuddy found herself back in New Jersey, working on her advanced degrees and doctorates. She wanted to practice in her home and when House suffered from his leg problems, she was one of the doctor’s to treat him.
It wasn’t a problem to her, she was honored to work on the famed doctor, until she found out how obnoxious he had a tendency to be. He was still a genius though, and it was a difficult decision to see if she actually liked him or was just tolerating him because of his injury and genius. She moved up in the world quickly though, and superseded the ranks of the hospital using her moral and medical knowledge. Then, the faithful day came when Gregory House was brought to work for her hospital. By the time Cuddy had gotten through the ranks and was Dean of Medicine, she thought she no longer had to worry about patient relations, however, when House walked in, her relationships with patients took another turn.
His crass, rude, and altogether anti-social attitude made Cuddy crazy. She had to smooth over relations at every turn, apologize to almost every patient who came in touch with him - but, she couldn’t get rid of him. He was an asset to the hospital, a force all his own in the medical field. It turned out to be a long series of quips, fights, and altogether torture for her with Doctor House. But again, she refused to get rid of him, and even defended him at times because of the asset he was to the hospital. Without him, Cuddy felt the hospital would greatly suffer, and she didn’t want any money to be lost from any of the departments.
Recently, after her last birthday, she started to realize her own mortality and her biological clock starting ticking rather loudly in her ear. At 35, being still single and having not even one prospect for marriage, Cuddy started to look around for a possible “donor” for her own little one. When she asked Doctor Wilson out, House became suspicious and meddled his nose into her affairs, as usual. Although embarrassed, Cuddy admitted to what she was doing and House joined in on the “search.”
Every possible candidate has thusly been destroyed by House, citing several different things that were wrong with each one of them, much to Cuddy’s chagrin. She has been contemplating House himself as a donor, but because of their already tense relationship - shies from the thought, merely because it could put a relationship and legal strain on them.

Your character is on break when a page comes for you to attend to some problems in the ER. When you go down to talk to a woman who displays signs of a serious infection. Your character should ACCURATELY and realistically observe the symptoms as well as diagnose this problem. [Since your character is a canon, I request several paragraphs].
The numbers bounced off the page and swirled around Cuddy’s head. Budgeting was her least favorite activity in the hospital. It was like asking her who was more important than someone else. After all these years she still wasn’t accustomed to making such important decisions regarding the livelihood of others. All she could do was sit back and hope she made the right decisions, which she found she did - most of the time.
Leaning back in her chair, she rubbed the bridge of her nose, sending a wary glance to the cabinet across the room. On the bottom shelf in the third partition there were files on about sixteen men from the hospital, all of which stamped with denied from House. She wished he hadn’t figured out what she was doing. It wasn’t any of his business, but, he noticed almost everything and she couldn’t stop him from that, as much as she would have liked to. But as long as he remained an asset to the hospital, she couldn’t and wouldn’t get rid of him. Besides, he at least made things interesting - cost them a lot of money, but was interesting, nonetheless.
With a deep sigh, she sunk lower into her chair and went to pick up her pen again when she felt a distinct vibrating against her hip. Looking down, she viewed her beeper with disdain. Apparently she was the only one left in the hospital that could take care of a patient at the moment. Although she wouldn’t admit it out loud, she was glad to be away from budgeting. Pushing herself up from her chair, the doctor rushed down to the first floor to the Emergency room where the woman was located.
Grabbing up the file from outside the room, Cuddy slipped her glasses on and looked over the file with objective eyes. Itching and burning… Change in smell… Discomfort during intercourse and urination… Closing the file, Cuddy walked into the room with a pleasant smile, this wasn’t going to be hard. All it required were some tests and a diagnosis that would require some antibiotics. “Good afternoon Mrs,” she looked back down at the file, “Daniels. How are you today?”
The rather albino-looking woman, licked her chapped lips and a glimmer of a blush appeared over her pallid cheeks. “Alright… I guess.” Cuddy didn’t want to embarrass or keep this woman here any longer than she had to, so taking out some swabs and containers, the doctor requested the young woman to lay down and she began to take a sample of the infected area. “Have you purchased any new soaps or personal products lately?” Cuddy asked in a methodical manner.
The young girl squirmed a little and coughed into her hand. “I - I’m trying a new soap, yea…” her voice was uncertain and Cuddy sighed. If the girl was going to lie, she wasn’t going to get any better. Placing the swab in its proper container, she snapped shut the container and looked at the young woman as she sat up nervously and rubbed her arms. “I’ll submit this for testing,” she held up the swab, “and you reconsider lying to me because if you don’t tell the truth when I get back, I’m sending in House.”
