Accepted! Welcome to PPTH Doctor Chase!

[Name:] Dr. Robert Chase
[Age:] 26
[Occupation:] Intensivist
[Special Talents/Extra Info:] Chase is fairly similar to House ~ except he keeps his commentary away from the patients and saves his two cents for his co-workers to hear. Recently, he’s become religious ~ either that, or more likely his religious beliefs have been lapsed and he’s re-developed an interest in it after an experience with a nun in the hospital.
[Personality:]
Chase has been illustrated as the ambitious, unethical, flattering, Australian doctor. Dr. House has made these personality traits much more relevant ~ although these aren’t exactly wonderful attributes, they are something to be proud of in the medical profession. House also seems to bring out the worst in Chase and make him feel moderately insecure. This may have caused Chase to ‘rat out’ House to Edward Volger, House’s enemy.
The amorality in Chase’s personality has simmered down a bit, but he still has aspects of the unprincipled quirk nested inside of him. Around patients, Chase is a bit like House ~ he’s cheeky, but he still does show some form of respect by not speaking irreverently to the patients, but rather more “behind the scenes.”
When he isn’t being picked on by House, he seemingly takes great pleasure in seeing his co-workers getting bashed on by his tormented supervisor. He’s normally one of the first doctors to suggest possible diseases for tricky patients, no matter if they’re wrong or not. All that matters in that case is getting his word out ~ his suggestions are mostly unconventional. He’s evidentially the longest-working member of House’s staff.
[History:]
Robert Chase was born into a rich Australian family. He was raised in Australia, but he moved to America later on in his life. In the past, he’s had an iffy relationship with his father. His father was a doctor as well. However, Chase never really got to know his father, seeing as he left the family when Chase was a child. Chase was sent to seminary school, which caused him to have inconclusive feelings about religion.
His mother was revealed to be an alcoholic, who basically drank herself to death. She died when Robert was sixteen years old, roughly ten years ago. This has always left Chase with hard feelings to his father. He informed House that he didn’t hate his father, he just stopped caring about his father’s actions. His father died of cancer after he came for a random visit.
With his co-workers, he isn’t exactly moralistic. He voluntarily slept with Allison Cameron, the immunologist on House’s team ~ not to mention, this event happened while she was high. This is further proven by the fact that he knew that she might’ve been infected with HIV ~ but he still had sex with her. He doesn’t have many standards, supposedly.

[Writing sample:]
Your character is on break when a page comes for you to attend to some problems in the ER. When you go down to talk to a woman who displays signs of a serious infection. Your character should ACCURATELY and realistically observe the symptoms as well as diagnose this problem. [Since your character is a canon, I request several paragraphs].
Chase took a long, scintillating sip of tea. He much preferred it to coffee ~ it tasted better, and it made his head feel clearer. It was also good to know that he didn’t have to survive on caffeine. A nurse came into the room Chase was sitting in, and Chase looked at the nurse.
“Dr. Chase, there’s a patient in the clinic with her mother. They want a doctor to do a check-up. Exam room three,” the nurse decked out in purple scrubs announced. Chase nodded, his blonde hair falling into his eyes. He stood up and put his tea down on the table. He’d get back to it later ~ probably heat it up somehow.
As he walked with the nurse, he quizzed her on the symptoms of the patient. It was all the usual stuff that they got in the clinic ~ spiked fever and vomiting. Nothing out of the ordinary ~ however, the patient had also had fainting spells and they were extremely dizzy. Chase’s eyes were furrowed in concentration. What could this be?
He walked into the exam room to see a curly-haired, blonde girl with blue eyes and a heavyset woman with short black hair. The older woman was obviously the blonde girl’s mother. “Hi, I’m Dr. Chase.” He shook hands with the mother. ”I’ve been told your daughter’s symptoms, Miss…” Chase looked down at the charts. “Anders. Does your family have any history of diabetes or glucose diseases?”
“Well ~ my sister-in-law has type one diabetes,” the woman responded, a confused look on her face. “My uncle had glucose problems ~ I’m not sure the term, officially.” Chase nodded. He knew exactly what he had to do.
“Alright, I’m going to take a blood sample to see if Alexandra here tests positive for diabetes or glucose problems,” Chase informed, taking the girl’s finger. The young girl flinched a bit, but Chase gave her a slightly sympathetic look. “It’ll be okay ~ it’ll only hurt for a second,” he mollified, taking the needle. “So, Alexandra, what grade are you in?”
“Thi--“ Chase pricked her finger while the blonde girl wasn’t looking. “--rd.” The girl looked down at the vial and a horrified expression crossed her face. “It’s okay,” Chase appeased, taking a small vial and filling it with the girl’s blood.
“I’ll take this to be tested ~ it’ll only take a few minutes.” Chase told one of the nurses to bring the vial to the lab, and notified them that in the meantime, he’d be in the back room drinking his tea. A few minutes later, a nurse came back with the test results. The girl was positive for diabetes.
