Very Accepted! Welcome to PPTH, Doctor House!

[Name:] Gregory House
[Age:] Early-Mid Forties (43?); actual age is not known.
[Occupation:] Head of the Department of Diagnostics
[Special Talents/Extra Info:] Gregory House, according to most, has the talent to provoke others to no avail. This is most definitely seen in his infractions of the law and the Hospital, especially to Dr. Lisa Cuddy, his team, and the has-been Chairman Edward Volger. House is known to lie, cheat, and even steal to get what he wants. Very sarcastic and having a dry sense of humor, House is a round of contradiction and doesn’t give a d**n about other’s ideas or opinions as he always thinks he knows what is best.
Despite all of these so-called negative traits, however, House is notorious for saving people lives and exploring the unknown. He is also a specialist in Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, and Diagnostician. Although sometimes reckless, rude, and crazy, he is by far above the other doctors at figuring out mysterious diseases and their cause and cure.
[Personality:] Sarcastic and pretentious sums up the legendary Dr. House. This man is not one to follow rules, listen to others, or carry out others orders. In fact, House doesn’t seem to acknowledge or respect any sign of authority. The mane appears to have serious boundary issues. On the note of authority, House doesn’t seem to respect those in higher rankings than he, and his respect for his colleagues appears to be, at times, non-existent. Extremely blunt with everyone around him, House has no respect or sympathy for patients. He’ll coax out their innermost secrets and (sometimes) use it to solve their mystery illness and, intentionally or not, will expose the truth.
To others, House is an *obscene word here*. He’s excellent at providing answers that smart, witty comebacks, and poor jokes. His arrogance is partially due to his inability to care about his staff, and even his patients. This is caused by the analogy he saves them, their relatives hold their hands. Extremely stubborn, House does not believe he can be wrong only the diagnosis is tried, weather it cures or hurts the patient. House describes himself as the most curious man in the world, not liking anyone, and loving the bizarre.
Some famous philosophies of House are: everybody lies, ‘you can’t always get what you want’, humanity is overrated, reality is almost always wrong, men are pigs, something always changes, oblivious is bad, nothing is ever right, ‘I was wrong’, ‘I was right’, the answer to life itself is sex, read less – more TV, ‘If you talk to God you’re religious – If God talks to you you’re psychotic, and, famous or infamous, "Our bodies break down, sometimes when we're 90, sometimes before we're even born, but it always happens and there's never any dignity in it. I don't care if you can walk, see, wipe your own ass. It's always ugly. Always. You can live with dignity, we can't die with it."
Lastly, and possibly most important, Dr. House enjoys the soap opera “General Hospital”, playing the piano, listening to “The Who”, “Mick Jagger”, and songs from his iPod, playing games on his many Game Boy’s and computers, his addiction to vicodin, watching baseball and lacrosse games, and having no personal life (with the exception of the hooker who comes every Tuesday and noticing when Wilson’s tie has changed due to a change in his personal life).
[History:] Gregory House was born to John and Blythe House one unfortunate evening when the full moon had occurred [just kidding]. House ums up his parents as; "They seem perfectly pleasant, don't they? They are. He was a Marine pilot. She was a housewife. Married 47 years. They had one child. My mom is just like everyone else. She's nice enough. Great sense of humor. Hates confrontation. My dad's just like you. Not the caring-till-your-eyes-pop-out part. Just the insane moral compass that won't let you lie to anybody about anything. It's a great quality for boy scouts and police witnesses. Crappy quality for a dad."
House’s parents seem to be reason for his use of sarcasm and not caring attitude. His father tells the truth, which bothers House. Ironic, seeing how House is the same way. His mother is a human polygraph, and House can never lie to her. House hates to see his parents, as he feels he is a disappointment, Even though he is a world famous doctor, he hates his parents saw him become a cripple- but not so much that, but that they saw him become miserable.
Gregory House's education would have been an excellant one. He was an undergraduate at John Hopkin's. His professor's were the famous Brightman and Gilmar. He made good grades, attended medical school until...until he was thrown our for cheating. This notion proved to come back and haunt him, when the man he cheated off of developed a medicine that attacked his patients. Luckily House saved those patients...perhaps he shouldn't have cheated off of him after all...

[Writing Sample:]
Your character is on break when a page comes for you to attend to some problems in the ER. When you go down to talk to a woman who displays signs of a serious infection. Your character should ACCURATELY and realistically observe the symptoms as well as diagnose this problem. [Since your character is a canon, I request several paragraphs].
Reclining back in his computer chair, House watched his red and grey ball bounce from him cane up into the air and then back again. It was three o'clock, and he had managed to get off of Clinic duty by coughing all over his patients. Completely disgusted, they sided to have another doctor aid them. This was perfectly fine with him. Grunting when the ball slid from him cane, he staggered to retrieve it from behind his desk. Although grimacing in pain, he managed to grab it and threw it on his chair.
With a relieved sigh he took his ball and set it on his desk, his cane laying near him. His leg had been bothering him more than usual lately, and the Vicodin wasn't helping much. Opening his desk drawer and popping three pills in his mouth he resumed his ball and cane game. Unfortunately, this did not last for long.
Growling when his pager went off he staggered down stairs into the ER, where Foreman and Cameron were removing a patient from a stretcher onto an examine table. "Where's the Australian?" he asked almost inaudibly, recieving a glare from Foreman and quick a "Bathroom break" reply. "So, what do we have here?" House asked, frustrated that this gasping, purple faced teenager had interupted his break.
"Sixteen year old soccer player, collapsed on the field," Cameron said with a rush, while putting an IV into the girl's arm.
"Temperature? Blood count? Heartbeat? Blood pressure?" House asked his comrads, placing his stephescope into his ears and taking her heart rate. It was there, but only faintly. Taking her pulse and observing her gasping breath he ordered oxygen - stat [sorry, couldn't resist].
"Pupils aren't responding!" Yelled Foreman, checking her alertness.
Staggering with his cane, House looked at her worried parents huddled near the door. "What happened?" he asked, getting only a brief exlpanation. "What's she wearing?" he asked when they said she had borrowed a goalie shirt from her coach.
Dropping his cane and (almost) running to his patient he ripped off her goalie's shirt and read the label. "Made of polyester, cotton, and anzorbayse, and other natural and artificial fibers."
The girl's arms were swollen, as was her neck. Turning to Foreman he said calmly, "Give her fluids and antihistamine in her IV. She'll be fine," House said to the relieved parents, who attempted to hug him and shower him with praise. "Yeah, send a fruit basket," he responded irritably as he escaped from their clutches.
And with that, he walked back up to him office to resume playing ball.
[Eeep, sorry about the GModing. I wasnt sure if I could do it or not. Hope it's okay ^^b =/]
